In December, we got a tree

Influenced by the lack of evergreen trees for sale until sometime after December 20, our family Christmas looks a little like this:

On December 24, we pick out our tree and carry it home.

Lev was absolutely delighted that we got to bring a tree inside.

On December 25, stuffed stockings appear on the cabinets.

Showing off the nativity set while we wait to open stockings. It seems the Baby Jesus didn't make it to His own party.

We took the Lego plunge this year. Except, it's more like a Lego dip so far. D loves them, but I'm not quite ready to have all those small pieces floating around.

Lev was so cute peering into his stocking, though we never did get a great picture.

We also decorate our tree. This photo is a total lie. We couldn't actually lift D high enough to get the star on the top, so Eric did it later. Don't trust everything you read on the Internet.

Immediately before a family photo with the tree.

First shot at a photo -- complete with a nose-bound finger.

Ah, that's better.

Our tradition also includes a big "breakfast" -- this year, it wasn't consumed until after well after church, but it still tasted like breakfast. I switched things up and tried the Pioneer Woman's cinnamon rolls. We were not disappointed. Well, actually, we were deeply disappointed when they were all gone.

Eventually, when Dietrich is in the primary grades, he will need to go to school on December 25, but we hope to be able to fit these three activities in around the school day.
